Complete Healing : Bible Study Do Not Miss!

Luke 5:14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go, and shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

To understand today’s message we need to relate to the incident of Jesus healing the 10 lepers recorded in Luke 17. We find in that incident when the 10 lepers cried out to Jesus to heal them, Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the Priest and they left to do that. The fact they did leave to show themselves to the Priest was a confirmation of the faith that they were getting healed for it was the Priest who had the power to declare them as healed.

The scripture says as they left to show all of them were healed, but it also goes on to say one of them stopped and turned to thank Jesus and it was only when Jesus saw his thankfulness that Jesus told him ‘be whole’. To be whole did not mean just healing of the body but even more, in indirect ways he was assure of entering Heaven for Jesus had set him to be free of his spiritual corruption. That leper was assured like the thief on the cross on the right side of Jesus during His crucifixion that on Judgment Day (when He comes in glory) he will be with Christ in Heaven.

In today’s message a man who was fully covered with leprosy was healed by Jesus and Jesus tested him also by telling him to do follow the tradition as per the Law of Moses and this man proceeded to do that. The healing of this man did happen and this man even caused the fame of Jesus to spread throughout so much so that Jesus had to withdraw Himself into the wilderness. But in all this we do not find the man being told that he would be whole.

Jesus as man did not seek His own fame but only the fame of His Father. God did not come as man to be famous, He seeks change of hearts of people so that they enter Heaven.

Let is not just seek physical healings of people or find solutions to their earthly problems, but let us concentrate on healing of the soul, of people being make whole, of them being completely healed including their souls.

Above all let us not seek to make Jesus famous, He does not seek fame, He desires His Name (Nature), which is also the Name of the Father be lifted up so that all that are in His Name (Nature) be saved / be whole. It is for this reason the mission is not to make believers but to make disciples.

[Prayer Starter]

Lord You are Almighty God, You are Spirit and Truth. You, Lord desire people to worship You in spirit and truth. You desire man to be transformed from within so as to be able to enter Heaven and thus need him to be born again in spirit. Lord we pray we do not seek just healing of the body but seek more the healing of the inner-man whose corruption hinders our entry into Heaven…

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

14 And when he saw [them], he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

16 And fell down on [his] face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where [are] the nine?

18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

1 Corinthians 15:50,53

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.
